Iowa State University Alumni Center

Ames, Iowa

A landmark between CY Stevens and Jack Trice Stadium, the Iowa State University Alumni Center was designed as a true front porch for Cyclones past and present. Its warm brick, limestone, and tall arched windows tie directly into campus traditions, while the interiors offer flexible spaces that welcome everything from weddings and reunions to conferences and game-day gatherings.

A central lounge with a glowing fireplace anchors the experience, surrounded by adaptable banquet halls, meeting rooms, and student spaces that keep the building active year-round. Set into the hillside with a dramatic east stair, the center naturally draws visitors from the Iowa State Center up into a vibrant hub of connection.

The 34,600 sf, three-level project was privately funded by alumni gifts and incorporates geothermal heating and cooling, underscoring a commitment to both community and sustainability.
